+ Mrs. Anson Chan retired as the Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government in 2001, after nearly forty years of service. As Chief Secretary, she headed the 190,000-strong civil service. She was the first woman and the first Chinese to hold the second-highest governmental position in Hong Kong.

Mr. Anthony Nightingale, CMG, SBS, JP

+ Anthony Nightingale was Managing Director of the Jardine Matheson Group from 2006 to March 2012, having joined the Board of Jardine Matheson Holdings in 1994. After joining the Group in 1969, he held a number of senior positions until his retirement from executive office in March 2012. Today he is a non-executive director of Jardine Matheson Holdings and of other Jardine Matheson group companies, Dairy Farm, Hongkong Land, Jardine Cycle & Carriage, Jardine Strategic and Mandarin Oriental, and a commissioner of Astra International. He is also a non-executive director of Schindler Holding AG, Prudential plc., China Xintiandi Limited and CRUPE International Holdings. He is a senior adviser to Academic Partnerships International and an adviser to Dickson Concepts. Mr. Nightingale is a Hong Kong representative to the APEC Business Advisory Council and chairman of the Hong Kong-APEC Trade Policy Study Group. He is a non-official member of the Commission on Strategic Development in Hong Kong, a member of the Securities and Futures Commission Committee on Real Estate Investment Trusts, a council member of the Employers’ Federation of Hong Kong and a member of the UK ASEAN Business Council Advisory Panel. He is an Honorary Professor of the School of Business of the Hong Kong Baptist University, a member of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Business School Advisory Council, chairman of the Sailors Home and Missions to Seamen in Hong Kong and the Patron of the Hong Kong Tennis Foundation. He is a past chairman of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Nightingale was born in Yorkshire, United Kingdom in November 1947. He was educated at Uppingham School and graduated from Peterhouse, Cambridge, with a Bachelor Degree (Honours) in Classics. Mr. Nightingale is married with two children.

Mr. Vincent H. S. Lo

+ Mr. Vincent H. S. Lo is the founder and Chairman of the Shui On Group which was established in 1971. It is a diversified group engaged in property development, construction and construction materials with interests in Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland. The Group's corporate culture and long term objectives are based on its commitment to quality, innovation and excellence. Mr. Lo is also the Chairman of both Shui On Land Limited (SOL) and SOCAM Development Limited (SOCAM), which are listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Mr. Lo was awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star (GBS) in 1998 and appointed Justice of the Peace in 1999 by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). He was named Businessman of the Year at the Hong Kong Business Awards in 2001, and won the Director of the Year Award from the Hong Kong Institute of Directors in 2002 and Chevalier des Arts et des Leres by the French government in 2005. Mr. Lo was honoured with “Ernst & Young China Entrepreneur Of the Year 2009” and also, as “Entrepreneur Of the Year 2009” in the China Real Estate Sector. Mr. Lo was made an Honorary Citizen of Shanghai in 1999 and Foshan in 2011. In 2012, the 4th World Chinese Economic Forum honoured Mr. Lo with the Lifetime Achievement Award for Leadership in Property Sector. In addition to his business capacity, Mr. Lo has been active in community services. He participated in the preparatory works of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. He currently serves as a Member of the Twelh National Commitee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Hong Kong's representative to the Asia Pafic Economic Cooperation (APEC) Business Advisory Council, Member of the Airport Authority Hong Kong, President of Council for the Promotion & Development of Yangtze, Economic Adviser of the Chongqing Municipal Government, Honorary Life President of Business and Professionals Federation of Hong Kong, among his other positions.

Mr. Ronnie C. Chan

Chairman, Hang Lung Properties Ltd.
+ Mr. Ronnie C. Chan is the Chairman of Hang Lung Group Limited and its subsidiary Hang Lung Properties Limited, both publicly listed companies in Hong Kong. Founded in 1960, it has been expanding into mainland China since 1992. For the year of 2011, Hang Lung Properties reported a net profit of US$743.27 million. Following successes in Shanghai, since 2005 Hang Lung has been investing US$8.4 billion and building a number of world-class commercial complexes in several major Chinese cities. Mr. Chan is Chairman of the Executive Committees of the One Country Two Systems Research Institute and of the Better Hong Kong Foundation, Convenor of the Hong Kong Development Forum, , a Governing Board member of the China-United States Exchange Foundation, He is the founding Chairman Emeritus of the Asia Business Council, and a former Chairman of the Hong Kong-United States Business Council. Mr. Chan is a Co-Chair of the Board of the Asia Society and Chairman of its Hong Kong Center. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the National Committee on United States-China Relations, the Committee of 100. Mr. Chan is a former director of Standard Chartered PLC and Motorola, Inc. and a former member of the governing boards of the World Economic Forum. Mr. Chan is involved in many educational endeavors. He is a Court member of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, a Trustee of the University of Southern California, and a Governing Board member of the Indian School of Business. He serves on the President’s Council on International Activities at Yale University, currently serves as Advisor on Strategic Development to Tsinghua University and Co-Chairman of Hang Lung Center for Real Estate at Tsinghua University. He is also a Guest Professor at Tsinghua University. . Mr. Chan holds an MBA from the University of Southern California and an honorary doctorate in social sciences from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Mr. Tsang Chun-wah, John, GBM, JP

Former Financial Secretary, Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region
+ Mr Tsang spent his secondary school years in La Salle College in Hong Kong and Stuyvesant High School in New York City. He pursued his interest in architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and went on to receive a Master Degree in Bilingual Education from Boston State College and a Master Degree in Public Administration from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. Mr Tsang worked in the Boston Public Schools prior to joining the Hong Kong civil service in November 1982. As a member of the Administrative Service, he served in a number of posts, including Administrative Assistant to the Financial Secretary, Assistant Director-General of Trade and Private Secretary to the Governor. Mr Tsang served following reunification in a number of different capacities, including Director General of the London Economic and Trade Office, Commissioner of Customs and Excise, Secretary for Planning and Lands and Permanent Secretary for Housing, Planning and Lands (Planning and Lands). Mr Tsang was appointed Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology in August 2003, and with the successful conclusion of the World Trade Organization Ministerial Conference in Hong Kong that he chaired in December 2005, he was appointed Director of the Chief Executive’s Office in January 2006. He was appointed Financial Secretary in July 2007. Mr Tsang is married with two children.

Mr. James E. Thompson, GBS

Chairman, The Crown Worldwide Group
+ James E. Thompson, GBS is the Chairman and Chief Executive of the Crown Worldwide Group of Companies. Crown Worldwide is a logistics company performing various types of warehousing and transportation services throughout the world. The Crown Group is the largest privately owned company in the field of international removals with over 250 worldwide locations in more than 50 countries around the world. Crown is also a leader in the field of document management with over seventeen million cartons of business documents managed from its worldwide facilities. Mr. Thompson graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He came to Asia shortly after completion of his university studies and has lived in Japan and Hong Kong ever since. He is a member of the International Advisory Board of the San Jose State University Business School. The Crown Worldwide Group employs over 4,000 full time staff around the world as well as a large number of contracted personnel. The company has been awarded the prestigious Hong Kong Award for Services in Export Marketing, and received the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce Innovative Services Award twice. Crown has also received the DHL/South China Morning Post International Award as Hong Kong’s best international company. Mr. Thompson is currently a member of the Investment Promotion Ambassador Scheme, and a non-executive Director of the Board of the Wharf (Holdings) Ltd. He also serves as a member of HKTDC HK-EU Business Cooperation Committee, a member of HK-US Business Council and a member of HK-Japan Business Cooperation Committee. He served as a Board Member of Ocean Park Corporation, the Chairman of HKTDC Logistics Services Advisory Committee from 2004 to 2008, a Council member of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council from 2002 to 2004, a member of the Hong Kong Trade and Industry Advisory Board and a member of the ICAC Advisory Committee on Corruption. He also served two terms as the Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong for 2002 and 2003. Additionally, Mr. Thompson serves as a member of the Hong Kong Forum and Vision 2047 which are organizations that actively discuss Hong Kong issues with visiting politicians, journalists and academics that visit Hong Kong. He was also a member of the Board of the Hong Kong-America Centre and has been a delegate representing Hong Kong on numerous Hong Kong Trade Development Council trade missions around the world. Mr. Thompson also serves as Chairman or as a Board member of numerous charitable organizations. His particular interests are charities related to children, cancer and education. He is the member of the corporate fund raising committee of Changing Young Lives Foundation, the head of Community Business Leadership Team, a member of the Executive Committee of the Society for the Promotion of Hospice Care, is on the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army and a trustee of Outward Bound. He currently chairs the Annual “Hike for Hospice” Charity event. Mr. Thompson was awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star, Hong Kong’s second highest awards, by the Hong Kong Government in 2003 Mr. Thompson is a U.S. citizen and a permanent resident of Hong Kong having lived here for 32 years. His wife, Sally is British. His two children Jennifer and James Jr. work for Crown New York and Crown Beijing respectively.

Mr. Martin Lau

President, Tencent Holdings Ltd.
+ Martin Lau, was appointed as the President of TENCENT in 2006 to assist Mr. Ma Hua-teng, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, in managing the day-to-day operation of the company. In 2005, He joined Tencent as the Chief Strategy and Investment Officer of the company, and was responsible for corporate strategies, investment, merger and acquisitions and investor relations. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Lau was an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs (Asia) L.L.C's investment banking division and the Chief Operating Officer of its Telecom, Media and Technology Group. Prior to that, he worked at Mckinsey & Company, Inc. as a management consultant. He has over 10 years' experience in IPO, merger and acquisitions and management consulting. Mr. Lau received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University and a MBA from Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University.

Mr. Hans Michael Jebsen, BBS

Chairman, Jebsen & Company Limited Hong Kong
+ Born in Germany and educated in Germany, Denmark, the UK and Switzerland, Mr Hans Michael Jebsen is the Chairman of Jebsen & Company Limited Hong Kong. Since 1985, he has led the family’s business as its Managing Director, later becoming its Chairman in 2000. Under his leadership, the company continues to prosper and has developed into a major corporation employing over 1,300 staff and actively engaged in business activities in Hong Kong and the Mainland. Mr Jebsen is a well-respected leader in commerce, with numerous commercial cross-appointments. He serves as a board member with Hysan Development Company Limited Hong Kong and Wharf (Holdings) Limited. He is a member of the Hong Kong European Union Business Co-operation Committee of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. Mr Jebsen is also actively involved in community services in Hong Kong. He is Vice-President of the World Wide Fund for Nature Hong Kong, and a member of the Advisory Board of the Hong Kong Red Cross and the Chairman of Asian Cultural Council. A civic-spirited resident of Hong Kong since 1981, he was awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star of the SAR in 2001. Mr Jebsen enjoys a close relationship with HKUST. He established a scholarship fund for HKUST in 1995 and he was awarded an Honorary Fellowship in 2000. He also served as a member of the Corporate Advisory Board of the School of Business and Management, and a Council Member since 2007. He is married with five children.

Dr. Victor K Fung

+ Dr Victor K Fung is the Group Chairman of the Li & Fung group of companies, which includes major subsidiaries in Trading, Distribution and Retailing, including publicly listed Li & Fung Limited, Integrated Distribution Services Group Limited and Convenience Retail Asia. He also is Chairman of the Greater Pearl River Delta Business Council, the Hong Kong Airport Authority and the Hong Kong University Council. Dr Fung holds a number of civic and professional appointments. He is Vice-Chairman of International Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Executive Committee of the Commission on Strategic Development. He also is Chairman of Hong Kong - Japan Business Co-operation Committee. From 1991 to 2000, Dr Fung was Chairman of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, and from 1996 to 2003, he was the Hong Kong representative on the APEC Business Advisory Council. Dr Fung is Chairman, Asia Advisory Board of Prudential Financial Inc. and a non-executive Director of Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited, Baosteel Group Corporation, PCCW Ltd, Orient Overseas (International) Ltd and Sun Hung Kai Properties Ltd. In 1995, Dr Fung was voted Businessman of the Year under the Hong Kong Business Awards Scheme for his success as an entrepreneur and for his contribution to Hong Kong’s economic development. He also was chosen Hong Kong Leader of the Year in 1998 and was named by Business Week as one of 50 Asian leaders leading the region out of economic crisis. He was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in 1993 in recognition for his commitment to public service. In 1997, the University of Hong Kong conferred upon him an Honorary Doctorate Degree of Laws and in 2001 he was awarded the Harvard Medal for outstanding service to Harvard University. In 2003, the Hong Kong Government awarded Dr Fung the Gold Bauhinia Star for distinguished service to the community. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Dr Fung holds Bachelor and Master Degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Doctorate in Business Economics from Harvard University. He also taught as a professor at the Harvard Business School for four years before returning to Hong Kong in 1976. Dr Fung is married with three children.

Mr. Weijian Shan

+ Mr. Weijian Shan is Chairman and CEO of PAG Group, a private equity & alternative asset management firm with more than $12 billion in capital under management across private equity, absolute return, and real estate investments. He is also managing partner of PAG Asia Capital, a buyout fund under PAG Group. Prior to PAG, Mr. Shan spent 12 years as a partner at TPG and co-managing partner of TPG Asia (formerly known as Newbridge Capital before 2007). He led a number of landmark transactions for TPG/Newbridge in Asia including the acquisition of control and sale of Korea First Bank and Shenzhen Development Bank in China. Prior to TPG, Mr. Shan was a Managing Director of JP Morgan, concurrently serving as China Chief Representative for 5 years. Before then, he was an assistant professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania for 6 years. His other former employers include the World Bank and Graham & James Law Firm in San Francisco. He was a hard laborer in the Gobi Desert of China for six years in his youth. Mr. Shan received an MA and a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley and an MBA from University of San Francisco. He graduated from Beijing University of International Business and Economics.

Based in Hong Kong, Marcopoto had to oversee all programming, network development, advertising and distribution sales, marketing and promotion for Turner Broadcasting and its networks and internet services, including the CNN news group, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, Pogo, TCM and CETV in the Asia Pacific region. CNN International is the world’s leading global, 24-hour news network, and is available for over 186 million households around the world. Cartoon Network offers the best in animated entertainment featuring its own original animation under the Cartoon Cartoons banner as well as drawing from the world’s largest cartoon library of Warner Bros., MGM and Hanna-Barbera. Boomerang is a new animation channel from the Cartoon Network stable, which launched on FOXTEL and AUSTAR’s digital services in Australia on March 14, 2004. POGO, a multi-genre channel created exclusively for kids in India, launched successfully on January 1 2004 and is distributed by Zee Turner Ltd. Still earlier, he was vice president and publisher of TIME Asia and managing director of Fortune Asia where he worked on the launch of FORTUNE China and the 1st Fortune Global Forum. Marcopoto earned a BA from Seton Hall University and arrived in Asia in 1981 and has lived in both Hong Kong and Singapore. He has served as Chairman of the Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA). Today he serves as a board member of the Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (CASBAA) and is on the Board of Governors of the American Club in Hong Kong. After growing up in Hong Kong, Ms. Yang went to MIT, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in pure mathematics. In 1976 she received an MBA from Harvard Business School. She returned to Hong Kong in 1978 and became a founding member of Esquel. She was named Chairman of the group in 1995. Ms. Yang currently sits on the boards of The Gillette Company, Swire Pacific Limited and The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited, and is a member of the New York Stock Exchange International Advisory Committees. She is also a member of the MIT Corporation and the Court of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Since 2001, she has been highlighted on Fortune magazine's annual international list of the top 50 most powerful women in business for her significant achievements in running a global operation employing 47,000 people. Ms. Yang is a Member of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. She has an immense interest in conserving the country’s environment and culture, especially in Xinjiang, western China. Ms. Yang is also concerned with the promotion of education, with a particular interest at this point in the development of young managers. She has been very involved with the MBA programs at Harvard, MIT, Tsinghua, Fudan and Lingnan universities, and sits on the various advisory boards of these institutions.
