Leon Jakimič is founder and President of LASVIT, the Czech Republic-based manufacturer of unique works of glass, especially bespoke glass art installations, innovative design lighting and original crystal glassware. Born into a glassblowing family in Liberec, Czech Republic, Leon graduated in 1998 from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Economics degree. He came to Hong Kong in 1999 to complete his studies at the Kellogg-HKUST EMBA, and founded LASVIT in 2007. Over the course of 12 years Leon has built LASVIT into a prestigious multinational company recognized worldwide including most recently when LASVIT received the Milan Design Award at Salone del Mobile 2018.

As a leading designer and manufacturer of bespoke light fittings, feature glass installations, and award-winning collections, Lasvit works on projects varying from glass sculptures for private residences to large-scale installations for luxurious hotels and high-end boutiques. Projects have included the Peninsula Paris Hotel, the New York Palace Hotel, Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi, and the Dubai Metro.
Leon is a member of many eminent professional organizations, including the Hong Kong-Europe Business Council and Young President’s Organization and through the LASVIT Foundation, is actively engaged in supporting the less fortunate in the North Bohemian region of the Czech Republic. He is a keen tennis player and the father of five children. He and his wife Lucie live in Hong Kong.
